Today, I found out that gurdwaras in Malaysia do not allow men who do not wear a turban and are clean shaven to do the chor sewa.

I’m not entirely sure what the reasoning is behind this, if it’s just a ‘keeping up appearances’ practise or if there is a genuine religious/logical reason behind it.

“Khalsa mero Roop hai khas, Khalsa mehi ha karo nivaas”  

I will not comment on whether it should be allowed or not but please note: 

It’s not just ‘Keeping up the appearance’ :( and its not just a mere practice.. it is the gift that has been given to us by our Gurus and I refuse to just decide what to keep and what not based on its significance alone (or society view of “blending in”).. and can not give you a logical reasoning of why to keep the sacredness of your body the way it was gifted.
